Description
If your Massey Ferguson is wandering all over the place or making that telltale clunking sound over bumps, worn front axle bushings are likely the culprit. When these bushings wear out, you’ll notice loose steering, uneven tire wear, and that wandering feeling when you’re trying to run straight rows. A fresh set of bushings brings back that tight, responsive steering you remember when your tractor was newer, making field work safer and more precise. This long-type front axle bushing is specifically designed for MF 35, 135, and TE series tractors that need the extended length configuration.
What You’re Getting
- Self-lubricating bronze construction for long-lasting wear resistance that handles real farm work
- Precision-machined to OEM specifications for proper fit and function – no play, no binding
- Long-type design for specific applications where the short version won’t work
- Heavy-duty construction that stands up to decades of field use and loader operations
- Direct replacement that restores factory steering feel and precision
Built for Real Farm Work
These legendary Massey Ferguson tractors – from the compact TE20 to the versatile 35 and workhorse 135 – are still earning their keep on farms worldwide. Whether you’re cultivating vegetable rows, running a loader for daily chores, or mowing with a sickle bar, precise steering control is essential. Your front axle bushings take a beating every time you turn, hit a bump, or work uneven ground. Quality bushings like these are made from materials that can handle the loads and vibration of real farm work while providing smooth, consistent steering response for thousands of hours.
Made to Last
This bushing uses oil-impregnated bronze that provides self-lubrication throughout its service life. The precision bore and outside diameter ensure proper fit without play while allowing smooth pivoting motion. Cheap bushings wear out quickly and can actually damage your axle pin, leading to much more expensive repairs. Bronze construction resists the shock loads and wear that destroy lesser materials, keeping expensive components like spindles and steering arms from premature failure.
Installation Notes
This is the LONG bushing – make sure you need the extended length version as the short type is a different part. Installation requires removing the front wheels and axle assembly, so it’s a good time to inspect all your front end components. You’ll need 2 bushings per tractor, and it’s always smart to replace both sides at the same time even if only one seems worn. Press bushings in carefully to avoid distortion, and never hammer directly on them. When installing new bushings, make sure the axle housing is clean and the bushings are properly seated. A light coating of grease on the axle pin helps with assembly and initial break-in.
