Description
When your classic Ford Dexta starts wandering down the road or you feel that telltale looseness in the front end, it’s usually that left-hand spindle telling you it’s had enough. After decades of handling everything from loader work to field cultivation, these hardworking components wear out—and when they do, you’ll know it from the steering drift and bearing noise that makes every trip an adventure you don’t want.
What You’re Getting
- Precision-machined bearing journals for smooth, wobble-free wheel rotation
- 271mm length matches original Ford specifications exactly
- Heavy-duty forged steel construction resists bending from rocks and rough ground
- Left-hand design fits the driver’s side position perfectly
- Direct replacement that restores proper steering geometry
Built for Real Farm Work
Your Ford Dexta and Super Dexta might be compact tractors, but they’re still out there doing the heavy lifting—from hay work and livestock chores to orchard maintenance and brush hogging. These 35-45 HP workhorses put unique stresses on front-end components, especially the left spindle which often wears faster than the right due to road crown and turning patterns.
Made to Last
This spindle starts as a solid steel forging, then gets precision machined where it matters most. Those bearing surfaces aren’t just smooth—they’re ground to exact dimensions that wheel bearings need for long life. The kingpin bore maintains proper angles for correct steering alignment, while carefully placed grease passages ensure lubrication reaches all the critical wear points.
Good to Know
Installation takes about two hours if everything cooperates, but plan on replacing bearings and seals while you’re in there—new spindle with old bearings is false economy. Check your kingpins too, since worn pins will negate the benefits of a new spindle. Proper bearing adjustment is critical: snug them up while rotating the wheel, then back off to the first cotter pin hole.
