Description

You’ve noticed something’s not right—your fan either roars constantly or won’t kick in when the engine gets hot. That viscous fan clutch is the smart brain of your cooling system, and when it fails, you’ll either be wasting fuel with a locked fan or risking expensive overheating damage. This clutch knows exactly when your engine needs maximum cooling and when it can ease off to save fuel, and a proper replacement gets you back to efficient operation.

What You’re Getting

  • Temperature-sensitive silicone fluid that changes properties as heat rises, creating the coupling force that spins the fan faster when needed
  • Returns 10-20 horsepower to your drawbar when cooling isn’t needed instead of constantly robbing power
  • Smooth, progressive engagement that prevents shock loads on belts and other cooling system components
  • Precision-machined housing with heavy-duty bearings and quality seals for long service life

Built for Real Farm Work

This viscous clutch serves the workhorse tractors in Landini’s lineup—from the mid-range 7 Series through the high-horsepower Powermaster models up to 230HP. Whether pulling wide tillage equipment, powering large balers, or operating high-capacity implements, these tractors pack serious power and generate the heat that demands intelligent cooling management. The same goes for McCormick’s MTX series tractors that share this cooling technology.

Made to Last

The robust sealed construction prevents contamination that would alter the clutch’s carefully calibrated response, giving you years of maintenance-free operation. The specially formulated silicone fluid responds predictably to temperature changes throughout its service life, so you get consistent performance season after season without adjustment or service.

Installation Notes

Never store the unit on its side or upside down, as this can cause fluid migration that affects performance. Inspect your fan blades for cracks or damage before installation—a bent blade will destroy a new clutch quickly. After installation, the fan should freewheel easily when cold, then show increasing engagement as the engine warms, with full lock-up around 200°F.
