Description
When your 414 diesel starts burning oil, losing power, or developing that telltale knock you hear over the turbo whine, you know it’s time for a complete rebuild. High-hour engines in these workhorses eventually need everything – sleeves, pistons, valves, and gaskets – to get back to pulling strong through tough field conditions. This complete Tru-Power overhaul kit gives you all the major components to bring your trusty IH back to like-new performance.
What You’re Getting
- Complete 6-cylinder rebuild components including sleeves, sleeve seals, pistons, rings, and wrist pins for a full bottom-end refresh
- All valvetrain parts – intake and exhaust valves, springs, guides, and valve keys to restore proper breathing
- Full gasket set plus crankshaft seals to stop leaks and maintain proper compression
- Pin bushings and retainers included – no hunting for small parts that always seem to be backordered
- Cupped-head pistons designed specifically for the 4.3-inch bore of the 414 CID turbocharged engine
Built for Real Farm Work
This kit is engineered for the 414 cubic inch turbocharged diesel that powered some of IH’s most dependable tractors. These machines spent their days pulling heavy implements, running loaders, and powering PTO equipment where reliability wasn’t optional. The 1066 and 1086 were the backbone of many farming operations, while the 915 handled construction and industrial duties with the same tough engine.
Made to Last
Tru-Power has been rebuilding farm engines for decades and understands what it takes to handle the constant heat cycles, high pressures, and demanding service life these engines face. The components are manufactured to meet original specifications while using modern materials and processes that often exceed the durability of the original parts.
Installation Notes
This is a complete engine-out rebuild that requires proper machine shop services – bore measurements, valve seat work, and crank inspection are essential for a successful rebuild. Most folks have their local machine shop handle the technical work while doing the assembly themselves. The kit doesn’t include main or rod bearings since those need to be sized based on your specific crank measurements.
