This is a major repair that requires splitting the tractor, so it’s typically shop work unless you’ve got the tools and experience. The captive disc has fine splines (25 count) while the loose disc uses the standard 1 1/8 inch shaft with 10 splines. If you’re doing the work yourself, now’s a good time to inspect the flywheel and pilot bearing while everything’s apart.
