Description
When you’re working on assemblies that need to stay put but occasionally require access or adjustment, a slotted hex nut is exactly what you need. This 1-1/8 inch nut gives you the best of both worlds—the six-sided grip of a hex nut for easy installation with standard tools, plus slots that let you pin or wire it in place to prevent backing off from vibration and use. Perfect for those critical connections where loose hardware can mean downtime.
What You’re Getting
- 1-1/8 inch slotted hex design works with standard wrenches while allowing safety wiring or cotter pin installation
- Plain finish provides corrosion resistance for most applications without the bulk of heavy coatings
- UNF fine thread pitch gives you more precise adjustment and stronger holding power than coarse threads
- Grade 2 construction offers reliable strength for typical farm equipment loads
Built for Real Farm Work
This nut works in assemblies throughout your equipment where you need the security of positive locking but don’t want to deal with lock nuts that wear out or thread-locking compounds that make future service a pain. Think axle assemblies, implement hitches, and anywhere vibration tries to work fasteners loose but you still need to get back in there for maintenance.
Made to Last
The plain finish handles normal weather exposure while keeping the threads clean for smooth operation. Grade 2 steel provides plenty of strength for most farm applications without being so hard that it’s brittle or difficult to work with in the field.
Good to Know
The slots are sized to accept standard cotter pins or safety wire depending on your application. When installing, torque to your normal specs for the bolt grade and size, then align the slots with your pin or wire holes. If the slots don’t line up perfectly, back off slightly rather than overtightening—the pin or wire will handle the locking.
