Description
When your old Ford starts getting loose and sloppy in the steering, it’s usually these little bushings that are letting you down. The spindle bushings wear out from years of turning, road work, and loader operations, causing vibration through the steering wheel and uneven tire wear. This TISCO replacement bushing gets your classic tractor steering tight and responsive again, just like it was when it rolled off the line.
What You’re Getting
- Precision-machined bronze construction that handles the loads and wear of daily farm work
- Upper and lower bushing applications for 2N, 8N, and 9N series – upper bushing only for newer models
- Direct replacement design that installs without modifications or special tools
- Durable material that self-lubricates for long service life
Built for Real Farm Work
These Ford N-series tractors might be smaller than modern machines, but they’re the workhorses of small farms – mowing, tilling, and handling chores from dawn to dusk. All that varied work puts unique stresses on front-end components. Whether you’re running a restored 8N for hay work or keeping a NAA Golden Jubilee earning its keep, proper spindle bushings are critical for safe operation and component longevity.
Made to Last
This bushing starts as quality bronze material, then gets precision machined to the bearing surfaces and dimensions that your spindle needs for long life. The bore maintains exact tolerances for proper kingpin alignment. TISCO builds these to handle the constant pivoting and load changes that come with real farm work.
Installation Notes
Installation takes about 2 hours per side if everything cooperates. While you’re in there, new bearings and seals are cheap insurance – a new bushing with old bearings is false economy. Check your kingpins while everything’s accessible, as worn pins will negate the benefits of new bushings. Remember to check both upper and lower positions on the older models, as they work together as a system.
